PressReady

Turns incoming purchase-order PDFs into clean, checked order summaries for print shops.

The project

PressReady is an order intake tool for print shops. Customers send purchase orders as PDFs, and someone at the shop has to read each one and retype it into Printavo, the shop’s production system. PressReady reads the order, organizes the details, and checks them first, so the retyping is quicker and the mistakes get caught before they reach production.

From PDF to organized details

New purchase orders wait in a simple queue. Opening one shows the original PDF side by side with the details pulled out of it: customer, PO number, garment, color, artwork, ink color, requested arrival date, and the quantity in each size. The reviewer can compare the two at a glance instead of hunting through the document.

Catching missing information

PressReady flags problems before anyone moves on. If the size breakdown doesn’t add up to the order total, it says so and shows the difference as the reviewer adjusts each size. If the order never says where the logo goes, it asks for a print location. The summary can’t be generated until every flag is resolved.

A clean summary, with people in control

Once the order checks out, PressReady produces a tidy summary ready for manual entry into Printavo, with a one-click copy. Nothing is sent automatically, and the summary is clearly marked as not yet confirmed: artwork approval, pricing, and the production schedule still need staff sign-off.
